At Municipal Park the
boxing gym needs a new boxing mat. New trash receptacles are needed at Dauer Park,
Veteran's Park, and Davis Park. Veteran's Park also needs playground rehabilitation,
which would serve as a first step toward compliance under the Americans with
Disabilities Act (ADA) at this facility.
DISCUSSION
We would like to request that these funds come from the Park Development Fund (see
attached) which has a balance of $124,107.40. In order to carry out these projects,
staff would need the following expenditure account descriptions and amounts set up
within the Parks Development Fund:
- Municipal Park (Boxing Gym) $ 19000
- Dauer/Veteran's/Davis Park
(trash receptacles) $ 3,000
- Veterans Park rehabilitation $109000
The Parks & Recreation Commission approved the above three projects on the April
20, 1994 Commission Meeting.
FISCAL IMPACT
$149000
RECOMMENDATION
Mayor and Council approve the appropriation of funds from the "Parks Development
Fund" as described above.
City Manager's concurrence
Report prepared by Erik Wood, Recreation & Human Services
Attachments: Account spreadsheet
Page 1 of 2 Item No.
