CITY OF COLTON <br />QorPor�l a <br />AGENDA REPORT e <br />1887 <br />,� <br />For Council Meeting of May 17, 1994 1 f 01- <br />TO: <br />t <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />DATE: May 11, 1994 <br />FROM: JOHN HUTTON <br />Public Works Director <br />SUBJECT: RESOLUTION APPROVING REMAINING WASTE CHARACTERIZATION FUNDS <br />COLLECTED BY SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY AS PART OF LANDFILL TIPPING FEES <br />TO BE REIMBURSED BACK TO LOCAL JURISDICTIONS <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Under AB 939 each local jurisdiction was to provide a waste characterization <br />study (SRRE) for their community. <br />A county wide coalition of cities was formed and San Bernardino County was <br />authorized to act as lead jurisdiction to collect funds for providing the <br />cost of the studies. <br />Funds were collected through landfill tipping fees, the studies for all <br />coalition cities were performed, and funds remaining for this purpose are now <br />proposed to be proportioned back to those cities included. <br />The attached resolution is the form requested by the county, that all cities <br />in the coalition approve for their acceptance of their reapportionment. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff would recommend approval of the attached resolution providing the <br />cities proportionate share of these funds back to the City of Colton.
