In the event the license does not so comply or <br />remove the stand or clean the site, in the manner required by the director of the building <br />and safety department, the city may do so, or cause the same to be done by other <br />persons, and the reasonable cost thereof shall be a charge against the licensee and his <br />surety and the deposit, certificate or bond." <br />SECTION 5: If any provisions of this Ordinance or application thereof to any person or <br />circumstances is held invalid, this invalidity shall not affect other applications of this Ordinance <br />which can be given effect without the invalid provision or applications, and to this end, the <br />provisions of this Ordinance are declared to be severable. This Ordinance shall be liberally <br />construed to achieve the purposes of this Ordinance and to preserve its validity. <br />SECTION 6: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance and cause same <br />or a summary thereof to be published within fifteen (15) days after adoption in a newspaper of <br />general circulation, printed and published in Colton, California and the Ordinance shall take <br />effect thirty (30) days after its enactment in according with the provisions of California law. <br />PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this the day of , 1994. <br />ATTEST: <br />Helen A.
