CITY OF COLTON 4"' o
`ornorta x
AGENDA REPORT
l f ofs
For Council Meeting of October 4, 1994
TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
FROM: JOHN HUTTON
Public Works Director
SUBJECT: AUTHORIZE INSTALLATION OF 4 WAY
SIGNAL INSTALLATION IS AVAILABLE
DRIVE AND ASHWOOD/DURON
BACKGROUND:
DATE: September 28, 1994
STOP UNTIL FUNDING FOR TRAFFIC
AT THE INTERSECTION OF COOLEY
Due to the recent opening of the Cooley Ranch Elementary School, pedestrian
traffic and vehicular traffic volumes have increased significantly in the
above mentioned intersection. This increased volume has created a need to
provide some measure of traffic control to provide safe crossing for the
students.
This intersection meets State Guidelines for warranting a traffic signal.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that Council authorize staff to seek funding for the
installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of Cooley Drive and
Ashwood/Duron and also to authorize the installation of an interim 4 way stop
until such funding is available.
14 Aloai
Report prepared by Brian Baden
B:000LEYAGEN
l
✓`
