CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of October 4, 1994 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor, City Council, and City Manager <br />FROM: Thomas K. Clarke, Electric Utility Director `C�� DATE: 09/26/94 <br />SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF AN INCREASE TO THE PURCHASE ORDER <br />COVERING PHASE II FOR SERVICES WITH BLACK & VEATCH BY <br />$52113001, IN CONNECTION WITH THE NEW TRANSMISSION LINE, <br />SUBSTATION AND DISTRIBUTION FACILITIES <br />STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM <br />As the City Council is aware, Black & Veatch, consultant, was awarded the contract to complete <br />the design of a new transmission line, substation and distribution line at a price of $277,934. <br />Due to the possibility of major industrial development in the western portion of the city, change in <br />the transmission and distribution line route, and to provide timely service to the RIX Project, <br />additional work will be necessary to complete the design of the transmission line, substation and <br />distribution line. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />The City could terminate the present contract with Black and Veatch and hire another consultant <br />but it would not be economical. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />An increase of $52,300 to the present purchase order to complete Phase II services. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />All the necessary measures will be taken to minimize any environmental impact caused by this <br />project. <br />Page 1 of 2 Item No. f 07 <br />
