Clarke, Acting Electric Utility Director DATE: 08/22/94 <br />SUBJECT: AUTHORIZATION FOR OUT-OF-STATE TRAVEL TO ATTEND <br />THE WESTERN UNDERGROUND COMMITTEE MEETING <br />BACKGROUND <br />Western Underground Committee is a group of electric utilities which provide for research in <br />planning and engineering. Most of the utilities in the western part of the United States send <br />representatives to this meeting to discuss and provide insight and possible solutions to current and <br />pertinent problems and issues facing municipal utilities. This meeting will be held in El Paso, <br />Texas on October 5 and 6, 1994. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />None. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />The cost to attend this meeting would be approximately $500.00. The Department budgeted for <br />this meeting in its current: fiscal year budget, which has not yet been approved. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />None. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the Acting Electric Utility Director to send a <br />representative to the Western Underground Committee Meeting October 5 and 6, 1994. <br />i <br />City Manager's Concurrence: ' <br />Report prepared by: Nitin Modi, Principal Electrical Engineer <br />Page 1 of 1 Item No. <br />
