HUITON <br />Public Works Director <br />SUBJECT: FINAL ACCEPTANCE/NOTICE OF COMPLETION PHASE I SOUTH <br />LA CADENA DRIVE BEAUTIFICATION PROJECT <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The So. La Cadena Drive Beautification Project consists of Three Phases. Phase I is the portion from I-10 <br />freeway to South of the Congress Street Railroad Crossing. <br />The project involved the installation of new curbs, sidewalks, parkway landscaping, irrigation and street paving at <br />an estimated cost of $696,535.77. With the total for all three Phases being $1.6 million. <br />FINANCIAL IlVIPACT: <br />Phase I of So. La Cadena Drive received two funding sources for its construction of these improvements. <br />1) Community Development Block Grant Funds (CDBG) in the amount of $426,951.01 were approved and <br />obligated as a source, and <br />2) San Bernardino County Host City Fees (a county landfill mitigation fund) was approved by an MO.U. <br />and obligated the amount of $778,585.65 for the Phase I Construction <br />These two sources totalling $1,205,536.66 covered the Phase I Construction and Engineering Contract amount <br />and expenses. <br />RECONEMENDATION: <br />If Council concurs, <br />1, Staff recommends final acceptance of South La Cadena Beautification Project Phase I in an amount of <br />$9829200.60 <br />23 Authorize finalizing a Notice of Completetion. <br />Item No. ! i� <br />Page _ of <br />City Manager's Concurrence: <br />,�*-YA --------------------- <br />
