AGENDA - COLTON CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 21, 1996 6:3 0 P. M. <br />MEETING CALLED TO ORDER: <br />FLAG SALUTE: <br />INVOCATION: Chaplain Jim Stovall <br />ROLL CALL: <br />PROCEDURES FOR ADDRESSING CITY COUNCIL <br />Please obtain a card from the City Clerk and fill out, noting item number on Agenda, <br />or address City Council under oral communications portion of Agenda. The City <br />Council encourages public input on all City issues within the Rules of Decorum as <br />follows: <br />DECORUM AND ORDER <br />To help conduct the business of the City Council in an orderly fashion, the City Council has <br />adopted rules pertaining to Decorum and Order. The City Council will strictly enforce these <br />rules in order to allow full expression of ideas and opinions by citizens, staff or legal <br />counsel. The rules are summarized below: <br />Unauthorized remarks from the audience, stamping of feet, whistling, clapping, yelling, and <br />similar demonstrations shall NOT be permitted by the Presiding Officer. Any disrupting <br />demonstrations shall be cause for the Chief of Police to clear the Council Chambers or to <br />remove individual offenders upon direction of the Presiding Officer. <br />Any person who verbally attacks other individuals, groups, or City Officials, or otherwise <br />becomes boisterous while addressing the Council, or while attending the Council Meeting, <br />shall be ruled out of order by the Presiding Officer. If someone begins to make impertinent <br />or slanderous remarks, the Presiding Officer (or the City Manager or City Attorney at the <br />direction of the Presiding Officer) will instruct the person to follow the Council Rules. If <br />the person does not cease, the Presiding Officer will instruct the Chief of Police to remove <br />the person from the Council Chambers and bar him/her from further audience before the <br />Council. <br />NOTICE TO PUBLIC <br />Staff reports or other written documentation relating to each item referred to, <br />on the Agenda, are on file in the Office of the City Clerk and are available for public <br />inspection. <br />1 <br />MAY �- 1 1996 <br />
