132 <br />On motion -of Councilman Hayes,..seconded by Councilman Rehrer and unanimously passed, Council <br />rejected Bid Item No. 1, and awarded Bid Items Nos. 2 and 3 to the highest bidder, on the <br />Sulrpl.us Fire Vehicles. <br />CITY ATTORNEY REPORTS AND'RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Claim: Julie G. Rivera vs. the City of Colton. <br />Assistant City -Attorney Edwards stated that at the suggestion of our insurance carrier, he <br />would recommend the Claim of Julie G. Rivera versus the City of Colton be returned in its <br />entirety to the applicant, advising her the Claim is being refused as it was not filed with- <br />in the time required by law. <br />On motion of Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Spragins and unanimously passed, <br />Council concurred that the Claim of Julie G. Rivera versus the City of Colton be refused as <br />it was not filed within the time required by law. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: <br />On motion of Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Gonzales and unanimously passed, <br />Council approved preparing a Resolution honoring and commending the Colton High School Foot, -r <br />ball Team and their coaches. <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION: <br />The City Council adjourned to Executive Session at 8:45 p.m., on the request of Mayor Huntoon. <br />The City Council reconvened at 9:06 p.m., all members present. <br />Car Allowance: <br />On motion of Councilwoman Spragins, seconded by Councilman Hayes and unanimously passed, <br />Council approved the request of the City Treasurer for a car allowance in the amount of $25.00 <br />per month. t <br />ADJOURNMENT: <br />With no further business to come before the City Council at this time, on motion of Council- <br />woman Spragins, seconded by Councilman Hayes and unanimously passed, Mayor Huntoon adjourned <br />the meeting at 9:08 p.m., to meet for an Adjourned Regular Meeting on Monday, December 23, 1974, <br />at 7:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of City Halla <br />Approved this day of , 1974. <br />Mayor <br />ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br />December 23, 1974 <br />5��li0e�f - lavl-� <br />HELEN A. RAMOS <br />City Clerk <br />In accordance with notice duly and legally given, an Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City <br />Council of the City of Colton was held on the above given date at 7:30 p.m., in the Council <br />Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Huntoon presiding. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />Council members present were Hayes, Spragins, Rehrer, Gonzales, and Mayor Huntoon. Also <br />present were City Manager Huffaker, Assistant City Attorney Edwards, City Clerk Ramos, <br />Assistant to the City Manager Rnndy Johnsen, and Planning Director George Williams. <br />City Manager Huffaker stated the purpose of this adjourned meeting is to discuss two items - <br />the Workmans Compensation Program and the Community Development Act of 1974. <br />Workmans Compensation Program. <br />City Manager Huffaker reiterated the information contained 'in his report dated December 16, <br />1974, which had been discussed at the Council meeting held December 17, 1974. <br />Mr. Huffaker said that Staff is recommending the City pursue self-insurance, and in this <br />regard Staff is also recommending the City retain the services of R. L. Kautz and Company to <br />administer and supervise a self-insurance program. <br />Mr. Cal Vaughn, representing the R. L. Kautz Company, explained the concept of a self- <br />insurance program and the services of the company. <br />Mayor Huntoon asked if the City does retain the services of the R. L. Kautz Company what will <br />be the annual cost for these services to the City. <br />DEC21974 <br />
