301 <br />Bonds would be the final payment. <br />Mayor Beltran asked for clarification on the air and chain saws. <br />Mr. Preece replied that due to age the chain saws are being replaced with air saws because they are safer to use, <br />however, the chain saws will be kept operational for use during situations when a truck cannot be driven into tight <br />sites. <br />Council reviewed the Dawn to Dusk Lighting policy. <br />Council looked at the Restricted Funds of Capital Outlay. <br />Discussion was held on service to our Water Wells. Mr. Preece informed the Council that plans are now being drawn <br />to take over the electrical service to Well 19 and that all other wells are now served by the City. <br />Moved by Councilman Gonzales, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to tentatively approve the Electric Budget. <br />PERSONNEL: (Preliminary Budget) <br />General Services Supervisor <br />City Manager reported that testing and oral board interviewing for the Purchasing Agent position has been held. <br />Mr. Huffaker said that when the tentative budget for the General Services portion of the Finance Budget was approved, <br />the Council decreased the amount allocated for salaries with the direction to Staff that the Purchasing Agent be <br />hired at the A Step. <br />Mr. Huffaker said that Mrs. Andengaard is requesting that she be allowed a little flexibility in the salary amount <br />in order to be able to negotiate and secure the best candidate for the position. <br />Council discussion followed. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to instruct Mrs. Andengaard to conduct her interviews <br />with the successful candidates in order to determine which, in her opinion, is the top candidate and to determine <br />what would be their lowest acceptable salary and to report this information back to the City Council at the earliest <br />possible date prior to final commitment on the salary. Motion carried. Councilmen Gonzales and Rehrer voting NO. <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION <br />Council Adjourned to executive session at 8:25 p. m. to discuss legal matters. <br />Council reconvened at 8:42 p. m. RAMOS <br />City Clerk <br />City of Colton <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * <br />ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br />June 12, 1976 <br />In accordance with notice duly and legally given, an Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of <br />Colton was held on the above given date at 7:30 p. m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Beltran pre- <br />siding. <br />ROI I CAI I <br />Council members present were Hayes, Cisneros, Gonzales, and Mayor Beltran. Also present were City Manager Huffaker, <br />City Attorney Edwards, City Clerk Ramos, Assistant to the City Manager Johnsen, Acting Finance Director Andengaard, <br />Auditor Analyst Young. Absent was Councilman Rehrer. <br />BUDGET: (Preliminary) <br />Community Services <br />City Manager Huffaker introduced the budget saying funds for the administrative costs of the Community Services <br />Department are provided for, $1,800 is included in the Operating Section to reimburse the Community Services Director <br />for the use of his private vehicle on City business. <br />On Council consensus, the amount of $200 for League of California Cities Labor Relations was deleted in Account 28 <br />and added to the League of California Cities General Conference. <br />In reply to a question on forms, office supplies, Mr. Young stated that although this particular section of the <br />budget is the same as last, there have been some cost savings in the overall departmental budgets due to consolida- <br />tion in office supplies. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to tentatively approve the Administration Section of <br />the Community Services Budget, Unanimous vote. <br />C Engineering <br />Mr. Huffaker reported that this portion of the budget includes a $10,500 expenditure in Capital Outlay, the major <br />item being an Electronic Distance Measuring Device. <br />JUN 121916 <br />
