<br />Job Description
<br />City Manager Huffaker referred to his memorandum dated February 25, 1976, regarding a request from Staff for a
<br />public hearing to amend the job description of Truck Driver -Operator.
<br />Mr. Huffaker requested the public hearing be set for the next regular Council meeting, March 16, 1976.
<br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilwoman Spragins, to set for public hearing on Tuesday, March 16,
<br />1976, at 7:30 p. m., amendment to Job Description of Truck Driver -Operator. Vote was unanimous.
<br />Bonds
<br />City Clerk and City Treasurer
<br />Mr. Huffaker recommended the City continue paying the premium for specific bonds on behalf of the City Clerk
<br />and the City Treasurer, for faithful discharge of their respective duties, as required by State law, Government
<br />Code Section 36518, and as stated in our Municipal Code Section 2.12.040.
<br />Mr. Huffaker said the annual premiums for the bonds amount to $18 for the City Clerk and $845 for the City
<br />Treasurer, which the City has budgeted and paid for several years.
<br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Gonzales, authorizing City to continue paying premiums of
<br />bonds required for the City Clerk and the City Treasurer as outlined by Staff. Vote was unanimous.

<br />Beep Alert Pager
<br />City Attorney Edwards read his memorandum dated February 25, 1976, requesting that the City rent a small radio
<br />device known as a Beep Alert Pager for his use.
<br />Mr. Edwards said the monthly rental is $20., there is no lease involved, and the only thing to purchase is a
<br />small battery.
<br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Gonzales, authorizing the City to rent a Beep Alert Pager
<br />for use by the City Attorney on a monthly rental basis of $20. Vote was unanimous.
<br />Ordinance No. 1491.
<br />City Attorney Edwards introduced Ordinance No. 1491 for first reading, explaining that this ordinance adopts
<br />the new Fee Schedule, Section 31.038 of the Health and Safety Code of the County of San Bernardino, as amended.
<br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to approve first reading of Ordinance No. 1491, and
<br />waive further reading. Vote was unanimous.

<br />Mr. J. Alfred White, 500 Cameo Drive, Colton, addressed the City Council regarding recent articles that had
<br />appeared in the newspapers concerning particular campaigns and candidates, and comments that had been made by
<br />Councilman Hayes.
<br />Mr. White stated that he wanted to assure everyone he had handled his campaign with complete honesty, that he
<br />is a man of honesty and integrity, and if anyone had any questions they would like to ask him, he would be
<br />more than happy to answer them.
<br />Mayor Huntoon said he would like to take this opportunity of expressing his pleasure and enjoyment in having
<br />served the City of Colton as a Council member, and more particularly for the privilege of being Mayor for the
<br />last two years. Mayor Huntoon said it has been a very rewarding experience, and he expressed his very best
<br />wishes to each Council member, and wished Councilwoman Spragins a very happy retirement.
<br />Councilman Gonzales stated that he would also like to express best wishes to Councilwoman Spragins on her
<br />retirement, and he felt that she will really be missed by the Council and the community.
