SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
August 9, 1976
A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above given date in the Council Chambers
in the Civic Center, located at 650 North La Cadena Drive, Colton, California, at 5:30 p. m., Mayor Beltran presiding.
Notice of Special Meeting was given on August 6, 1976, in compliance with Government Code Section 54956.
ROLL CALL:
Council members present were Hayes, Cisneros, Rehrer, Gonzales, and Mayor Beltran. Also present was City Manager
Huffaker, City Attorney Edwards, and Deputy City Clerk Veralrud. Absent was City Clerk Ramos.
Trinity Water Company
Mayor Beltran advised that a letter dated August 9, 1976, has been received from Mr. Harry V. Roquet, President of
the Trinity Water Company, requesting that the matters scheduled for discussion and finalization this afternoon
between the City of Colton and the Trinity Water Company, be postponed for approximately three weeks in order to
secure all of the signatures required on a Consent to Transfer from the shareholders of the company.
Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to postpone the matter of the Trinity Water Company
Elections
Colton Police Officers Association
City Manager Huffaker referred to a letter dated August 5, 1976, from Randy Heusterberg, President of the Colton
Police Officers Association, requesting that the Resolutions approved and adopted at a previous Council meeting,
with regard to amending the Employees Retirement Plan for Police Safety Employees, be amended to omit the following
items:
1. Widow's continuance.
2. Highest one year compensation.
3. Military buy-back.
Mr. Huffaker advised that by altering the amendment, or measure, for the Police Safety Employees, this would now
conform with the measure for the Fire Safety Employees, and by combining the two would now necessitate only one
measure on the November ballot.
Mr. Huffaker also advised that two new resolutions have been prepared indicating this change, which reflects the
measure to include both the Police and Fire Safety Employees.
Councilman Rehrer felt there was no need for the two new resolutions, inasmuch as the City Council had already
approved and adopted four resolutions at a previous meeting for the same thing.
