117 <br />Mr. Young said he would bring the new contract back to the Council <br />when ready. <br />Water Utility <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes seconded by Councilman Rehrer, and unanimous- <br />ly passed, to tentatively approve the Water Utility Budget as presented. <br />Refuse <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Mayor Gonzales, to tentatively <br />approve the Refuse Budget as presented. Unanimous vote. <br />Chamber of Commerce <br />Mr. Duane Sharp, President Chamber of Commerce_, addressed the Council <br />to ask for budget reconsideration. Mr. Sharp stated the Chamber did <br />not intend to lose its' Chamber Manager or Secretary, but that it found <br />it necessary to delete the Annual Christmas Parade, contributions to <br />the Mexican Independence Parade, and the Colton Band Review. Mr. <br />Sharp said the Chamber would be receptive to receiving quarterly <br />increments if this was the Council's desire. <br />It was the consensus of the Council that the Chambers request be <br />considered after completing the initial review of the budget. <br />Personnel <br />Council reviewed the tenatively approved adjustments of personnel <br />positions and took the following actions: <br />City Manager - Ass't to the City Manager. Moved by Councilman Rehrer, <br />seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to delete the position. Motion <br />carried. Mayor Gonzales voting NO. <br />City Manager/Personnel <br />Personnel Assistant - Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by <br />Councilman Hayes to retain the Personnel Assistant. Motion carried. <br />Mayor Gonzales voting NO. <br />Secretary II - Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes, <br />to delete the Secretary II. Motion carried. Mayor Gonzales voting NO. <br />Party --mime Typist Clerk - Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by <br />Councilwoman Cisneros, to delete the Part-time Typist Clerk. Motion <br />carried. Mayor Gonzales voting NO. <br />City Manager Calabrese reiterated time and again that the proposal for <br />deletion of the current positions in the Personnel Office and operation <br />on a four hour basis with a part-time typist clerk was based entirely <br />on the retention and hiring of an Assistant to the City Manager. <br />City Manager/Multi-Svc. Centers <br />Maintenance Person - Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman <br />Hayes to delete the Maintenance Person. Unanimous vote. <br />Planning <br />Planning Assistant - Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilwoman <br />Cisneros, to retain the Planning Assistant. Ayes: Hayes, Cisneros. <br />Noes: Gonzales. Abstain: Rehrer. <br />Police/Patrol Division <br />Police Officers (Two) - Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by <br />Councilman Hayes to delete one (1) Police Officer. Unanimous vote. <br />Police/Detective Div. <br />Detective - Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes, <br />to delete the Detective.
