272 BUDGET : Revenue Sharing Funds Mr. Ray Abril, spokesperson for the newly formed Veterans Memorial Committee, ad- dressed the City Council in regards to their proposal for funding of recreational activities from Revenue Sharing Funds. Mr. Abril stated that following his presentation to the City Council on July 11, 1979, the committee had met again and conferred with Mr. Max Lofy, Recreation Director. As a result of this meeting the proposal being submitted tonight to the City Council is for a total amount of $30,506.00 a substantial decrease from the $60,000 originally requested. Mr. Abril read in full a letter of support from the Sociedad Progresista Mexi- cana, Inc. Logia "Gral. Guadalupe Victoria" No. 2, signed by Mary R. Tafolla, President. Recreation Director Lofy stated he was in full accord with the proposal as sub- mitted tonight and that funding would enable him to do alot of activities that have not been provided in the past. Discussion followed on disbursement of funds. Mr. Lofy stated he had discussed this matter briefly with Finance Director Helsley and both are of the opinion that although Mr. Lofy would be supervising the dis- bursements, a separate account would be kept for easier accountability of these particular funds. On Council consensus, it was decided that formal action on the proposal submitted by the Veterans Memorial Committee be considered at the time the overall Recreation Department budget is acted on. Mr. Oscar Ramirez, 925% Fernando, Colton, addressed the Council asking when will a decision be made on the proposal submitted by Mr. Abril, next week or when? Councilman Rehrer responded saying it was difficult to say exactly when a decision would be made, inasmuch as the Council has not yet gone through the budget. Council- man Rehrer said he would estimate that in about a week, the Council would be in a better position, having gone throug the budget, to act on this proposal. Mayor Gonzales was of the opinion that there was sufficient revenue sharing funds to cover the proposal. EXECUTIVE SESSION: The City Council adjourned to Executive Session at 6:22 p. m., on request of Council- woman Cisneros, to discuss personnel matters. The Council reconvened at 7:16 p. m., all members present. Mayor Gonzales reported the Council had been in Executive Session on personnel matters. Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve Resolu- tion No. 3925. Motion carried upon roll call vote, Mayor Gonzales voting NO. Mayor Gonzales asked for full reading of the resolution. City Attorney Edwards read Resolution No. 3925 in full, as follows: RESOLUTION NO. 3925 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF COLTON OF.INTENTION TO REMOVE THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF COLTON. The City Council of the City of Colton resolves as follows: It is the intention of the Council to remove Thomas J. Calabrese from the position of City Manager of the City of Colton.
