After brief discussion of this item, Chief Teague stated the only area where his 41"44 budget had some flexibility was in the Miscellaneous Equipment Account, on Page 424. Chief Teague suggested cutting Item Nos. 2 & 9 by $600.00 each and transferr- ing this amount over to the Radio Equipment Account. Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to tentatively approve the Fire Budget as presented, including the transfer of $1,200 from the Miscellaneous Equipment Account to the Radio Equipment Account. Unanimous vote. Councilwoman Garcia said she did not want to see the City Council loose sight of the recommendation presented by Chief Teague for the development of a Fire Prevention and Control Master Plan and would like this pursued. Acting City Manager Elliott stated Staff would prepare a report for Council's con- sideration at the first meeting in July. Mayor Gonzales recommended that Mayor Pro Tempore Hayes represent the City Council on the Master Plan Committee. Council Members had no objection to the Mayor's recommendation. Councilwoman Cisneros stated that she would like to see the meetings opened to all of the Council Members. RECESS: The City Council recessed at 6:50 p. m., and reconvened at 7:14 p. m. Q EXECUTIVE SESSION: The City Council adjourned to Executive Session at 7:15 p. m., and reconvened at 7:59 p. m., all Members present. The purpose of the Executive Session was to discuss matters dealing with personnel and meet and confer. ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the City Council at this time, on motion of Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilwoman Garcia and unanimously passed, Mayor Gonzales adjourned the meeting at 8:00 p. m., to meet for an Adjourned City Council Meeting on Wednesday, June 11, 1980, at 5:30 p. m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall. Also present were Acting City Manager Elliott, City Attorney Edwards, Acting Finance Director Andengaard, City Auditor Young, and City Clerk Ramos. BUDGET Preliminary Community Services/Administration Community Services Director Wang presented the Administration portion of the Commun- ity Services budget. Mr. Wang stated under salaries there is a slight decrease due to a new person filling the Administrative Assistant position, the new person is at a beginning step as compared to the person leaving the position, who was at the top step.
