492 Teen Center <br />Mayor Gonzales read from a memorandum from the Recreation Director advising that <br />due to the short Thanksgiving week, it has been difficult to gather the appropriate <br />members of the Ad Hoc Committee for the Teen Center, as some of them were going out <br />of town, however, a presentation will be made a the next regular Council Meeting, <br />December 16, 1980. <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS AND RFC0MMFNDATTnNS_- <br />Community Relations <br />Ford Memorial <br />City Manager Trevino reported that the L. J. Snow family is desirous of creating a <br />memorial fund for needy persons regarding cemetery plots. Mr. Trevino stated at <br />various times the City has had to deviate from accepted policies because of lack <br />of adequate funds to take care of cemetery plot costs. <br />Mr. Trevino continued Staff is recommending that the City Council accept a $1,500 <br />donation from the L. J. Snow family in order to establish a L. J. Snow Memorial <br />Fund for people needing assistance with cemetery plots, and Staff will prepare a <br />plan, for the next Council meeting, whereby the fund would be administered. Mr. <br />Trevino said Staff would also like to recommend that the City Council establish a <br />plaque in City Hall honoring Mr. L. J. Snow as the first recipient thereof. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve Staff's <br />recommendations as outlined by the City Manager with regard to the L. J. Snow <br />Memorial. Unanimous vote. <br />Personnel <br />Mr. Trevino requested Council's consideration and approval to set for public hear- <br />ing on Tuesday, December 16, 1980, amendments to the City's Pay and Classification <br />Plan by adding the position of Building Inspector Trainee, Salary Range 7, and <br />changing the Salary Range for the position of Assistant to the City Manager from <br />72 to 67. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to set for public hear- <br />ing on Tuesday, December 16, 1980, amendments to the City's Pay and Classification <br />Plan as outlined. Unanimous vote. <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Citv Properties <br />City Attorney Edwards reviewed his memorandum regarding the sale of City property <br />located in the City of San Bernardino at the northeast corner of Mt. Vernon Avenue <br />and Mill Street, measuring 75 feet by 100 feet and containing a well and small build- <br />ing near the well site. <br />Mr. Edwards advised that only one offer of sale was received, from the owners of the <br />adjoining parcel, Mr. and Mrs. Churchwell, in the amount of $5,925. <br />Mr. Edwards stated Staff recommends that the excess land be sold to Mr. and Mrs. <br />Churchwell on the terms set forth in the escrow instructions and, if Council con- <br />curs, adoption of Resolution No. 4059 would be in order. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Garcia, seconded by Councilman Hayes, authorizing and approving <br />sale of City property located at the northeast corner of Mt. Vernon Avenue and Mill <br />Street as outlined by the City Attorney. Unanimous vote. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Garcia, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve Resolution <br />No. 4059. Unanimous vote. <br />I <br />RESOLUTION NO. 4059 - RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON TO SELL <br />REAL PROPERTY THAT IS INCAPABLE OF USE FOR PARK PURPOSES. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Mr. William Ashley, Colton, again addressed the City Council with regard to the <br />bicycle paths in the Cooley Ranch. <br />City Manager Trevino suggested to Mr. Ashley that he meet with him and Mr. Hippen- <br />steil to discuss this matter in greater detail. <br />p.E � 21980 <br />
