5'7 <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to ap- <br />prove the Consent Calendar. Unanimous vote. <br />MAYOR'S REPORTS AND PROCLAMATIONS: <br />Proclamations <br />Mayor Huntoon read in full a Proclamation declaring the month of May, <br />1985, as ARTS AWARENESS MONTH. The Proclamation was accepted by Mr. <br />Tom Williams. <br />Deaf Awareness Month - May, 1985. <br />Councilman Rehrer read in full a Proclamation declaring the month of <br />May, 1985, as OLDER AMERICANS MONTH. The Proclamation was accepted <br />by Mrs. Evelyn Rehrer. <br />California Traffic Safety Week - May 19 - 25, 1985. <br />Each Council Member stated they were in favor of the Sister City <br />Program, and sending a representative from the City Council to <br />Puruandiro. <br />After additional discussion, moved by Councilman Rios, seconded by <br />Councilman Rehrer, appointing Councilwoman Cisneros to represent the <br />City Council of Colton in Puruandiro. Unanimous vote. <br />Safety Committee <br />Bruce Ramp, Fire Division Chief, spoke about the Survival Kit Contest <br />that had been conducted by the Safety Committee and the judging of the <br />emergency food kits. Mr. Ramp stated the winner of the contest was <br />Linda Hernandez, Personnel Department. Mr. Ramp then presented Mrs. <br />Hernandez with an award of $100. <br />Councilman Rehrer suggested that Mr. Ramp describe the contents of the <br />survival kit for all those present. <br />Mr. Hamp stated he did not have the list with him, however, if anyone <br />wished to call him at the Fire Department, he would be happy to discuss <br />the items with them. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS: <br />Bonds/Financing <br />Mayor Huntoon declared the Public Hearing open. <br />City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Publication and reported <br />that no protests or objections had been received. <br />City Manager Elliott referred to a memorandum from Best, Best and <br />Krieger regarding a multi -family rental housing project to be con- <br />structed by Fredricks Development Corporation. <br />Mr. Elliott said Staff recommends adoption of Resolution No. 4595, <br />approving the financing of the multi -family rental housing project. <br />Mayor Huntoon asked if anyone present desired to speak on this matter. <br />QM <br />Sister City Program <br />0 <br />Mayor Huntoon advised that <br />the six <br />representatives <br />from Puruandiro <br />that had visited our City <br />on April <br />17, 1985, have now invited the <br />❑ <br />Council to visit their city <br />on May <br />24, 1985, in the <br />hopes of becoming <br />our Sister City. <br />M <br />W <br />Q <br />Mayor Huntoon recommended <br />that the <br />Council decide whether <br />or not they <br />would like to enter into a <br />Sister <br />City relationship <br />with the City of <br />Puruandiro, and if so, to <br />appoint <br />a representative <br />from the Council <br />to travel to Puruandiro. <br />Each Council Member stated they were in favor of the Sister City <br />Program, and sending a representative from the City Council to <br />Puruandiro. <br />After additional discussion, moved by Councilman Rios, seconded by <br />Councilman Rehrer, appointing Councilwoman Cisneros to represent the <br />City Council of Colton in Puruandiro.
