Neighborhood Economic Advisory Committee 233 Mayor Huntoon reported from his memorandum regarding the selection of members to the Neighborhood Economic Advisory Committee relating to the Agua Mansa Enterprise Zone. Mayor Huntoon stated each Council Member is to select three persons from residents and business owners in South Colton. Mayor Huntoon referred to a list of names of members that have been selected to date, and a map showing the South Colton region. Mayor Huntoon stated the remaining names should be made avail- able for the Council Meeting of August 19, 1986. PUBLIC HEARINGS: Appe>als Cargill Corporation Mayor Huntoon declared the Public Hearing open, and reported he was very sorry to have to announce that this public hearing would have to be continued to the next regular Council Meeting of August 19, 1986, due to two of the Council Members being absent, and because this is a very important issue, the City felt it was necessary to wait until there is a full Council. O Mr. Dale Balders, Colton, stated he and many others here this evening did not receive a notice in the mail about the hearing this evening, Lo and they are very interested in this matter. 00 City Attorney Edwards stated that a legal notice had been published in Q the Colton Courier, announcing the public hearing, and the City Clerk advised that notices had been mailed also. Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios, to continue the Public Hearing, on Appeal of Variance application, filed by Cargill Corporation, to Tuesday, August 19, 1986. Unanimous vote. Parking Regulations City Manager Benest reported on the parking regulations on Stephen Street, referring to a memor4ndum from Fire Chief Gemmell, advising the Fire Department has reassessed the parking situation on Stephen Street and, according to Chief Gemmell, it is not necessary to ex- clude parking on one side of the street in order that emergency vehicles can pass. Mr. Benest said Staff recommends approval of Resolution No. R-127-86, removing the No Parking regulation, and direct Chief Gemmell to so advise the residents. Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios, to approve Resolution No. R-127-86. Unanimous vote. RESOLUTION NO. R-127-86 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. R-88-86. Mrs. Victoria Cortez, 277 Stephen Street, asked if the City can do something about cars that are left on the street, that are not in running condition. Mr. Cortez said the street looks like a junk yard. Mr. Benest stated the City has an ordinance prohibiting cars being left on the street that are inoperative, and Staff will check on the situation on Stephen Street. Personnel Res. No. R-122-86 Mayor Huntoon declared the Public Hearing open. Personnel Officer Benest submitted the Affidavit of Posting and reported that no protests or objections had been received.
