Neighborhood Economic Advisory Committee 233 <br />Mayor Huntoon reported from his memorandum regarding the selection of <br />members to the Neighborhood Economic Advisory Committee relating to <br />the Agua Mansa Enterprise Zone. Mayor Huntoon stated each Council <br />Member is to select three persons from residents and business owners <br />in South Colton. Mayor Huntoon referred to a list of names of members <br />that have been selected to date, and a map showing the South Colton <br />region. Mayor Huntoon stated the remaining names should be made avail- <br />able for the Council Meeting of August 19, 1986. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS: <br />Appe>als <br />Cargill Corporation <br />Mayor Huntoon declared the Public Hearing open, and reported he was <br />very sorry to have to announce that this public hearing would have <br />to be continued to the next regular Council Meeting of August 19, <br />1986, due to two of the Council Members being absent, and because this <br />is a very important issue, the City felt it was necessary to wait until <br />there is a full Council. <br />O <br />Mr. <br />Dale Balders, Colton, stated he <br />and many others here this evening <br />did <br />not receive a notice in the mail <br />about the hearing this evening, <br />Lo <br />and <br />they are very interested in this <br />matter. <br />00 <br />City <br />Attorney Edwards stated that a <br />legal notice had been published in <br />Q <br />the <br />Colton Courier, announcing the public <br />hearing, and the City Clerk <br />advised <br />that notices had been mailed <br />also. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios, to continue <br />the Public Hearing, on Appeal of Variance application, filed by Cargill <br />Corporation, to Tuesday, August 19, 1986. Unanimous vote. <br />Parking Regulations <br />City Manager Benest reported on the parking regulations on Stephen <br />Street, referring to a memor4ndum from Fire Chief Gemmell, advising <br />the Fire Department has reassessed the parking situation on Stephen <br />Street and, according to Chief Gemmell, it is not necessary to ex- <br />clude parking on one side of the street in order that emergency <br />vehicles can pass. <br />Mr. Benest said Staff recommends approval of Resolution No. R-127-86, <br />removing the No Parking regulation, and direct Chief Gemmell to so <br />advise the residents. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios, to approve <br />Resolution No. R-127-86. Unanimous vote. <br />RESOLUTION NO. R-127-86 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF COLTON REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. R-88-86. <br />Mrs. Victoria Cortez, 277 Stephen Street, asked if the City can do <br />something about cars that are left on the street, that are not in <br />running condition. Mr. Cortez said the street looks like a junk yard. <br />Mr. Benest stated the City has an ordinance prohibiting cars being <br />left on the street that are inoperative, and Staff will check on the <br />situation on Stephen Street. <br />Personnel <br />Res. No. R-122-86 <br />Mayor Huntoon declared the Public Hearing open. <br />Personnel Officer Benest submitted the Affidavit of Posting and reported <br />that no protests or objections had been received. <br />Personnel Officer Benest reported on the proposed classification of <br />Assistant City Manager for Administrative Services and the creation of <br />AUG 5l <br />
