Vernon <br />Corridor Redevelopment Project, RESOLUTION NO. R-166-86. <br />(Councilman Rehrer abstained from Voting on this item) <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios, to approve <br />the Consent Calendar as amended. Unanimous vote. <br />MAYOR'S REPORTS AND PROCLAMATIONS: <br />Centennial Committee <br />City Manager Benest advised that the Centennial Committee will be pre- <br />senting the Centennial Flags to the City Council and our Sister City <br />of Puruandiro, Mexico, at the next regular Council Meeting of December <br />29 1986, therefore, it is recommended this matter be continued. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS: <br />Landscaping & Lighting Maintenance District No. 1 <br />Res. Nos. R-167-86 <br />Mayor Huntoon declared the Public Hearing open. <br />City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Publication and reported <br />that no protests or objections had been received. <br />City Manager Benest recommended the Public Hearing be continued to Dec- <br />ember 16, 1986, to obtain additional information on this matter. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to con- <br />tinue the Public Hearing on Landscaping and Lighting Maintenance Dis- <br />trict No. 1, Annexation Nos. 4 and 5, to Tuesday, December 16, 1986. <br />Unanimous vote. <br />CORRESPONDENCE: <br />Parking <br />Mayor Gonzales referred to a letter from Dorothy Bednorz, 1097-35 Santo <br />Antonio Drive, regarding parking commercial vehicles on the street, and <br />asked if there was anyone present that desired to speak on this matter. <br />Councilman Rehrer asked if this was the same problem as with the motel <br />parking in that area, and stated he thought this had been resolved. <br />City Manager Benest stated Staff has been working with the people from <br />the motel, and with Mr. Villelli, to provide temporary parking until WN <br />additional land can be obtained for parking. Mr. Benest stated Staff <br />would be returning to the Council with a report on this matter. <br />Soap Box Derby Racing <br />Mayor Gonzales referred to a letter from Bruce Finwall, 976 West Foot- <br />hill Boulevard, Claremont, regarding Soap Box Derby racing. <br />Mr. Bruce Finwall, 976 West Foothill Boulevard, Claremont, requested <br />permission from the City Council to block off Wildrose Avenue, south <br />of San Bernardino Avenue and north of Valley Boulevard, to hold a <br />"Just for Fun" Soap Box Derby rally on November 30, 1986. <br />Nov 18 1986 <br />
