<br />R-120-89 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
<br />OF COLTON, ADOPTING A NEGATIVE DECLARATION FOR
<br />THE MOBILE HOME RENT STABILIZATION ORDINANCE,
<br />FILE INDEX NO. D-75-89.
<br />ORDINANCE NO. 0-19A-89 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON TO PROVIDE
<br />(First Reading) FOR STABILIZATION OF RENTS FOR MOBILE HOME
<br />PARK SPACES.
<br />Mayor Gonzales stated at a previous Council Meeting, there was a great
<br />deal of public imput on this item. Mayor Gonzales stated the Council
<br />has now taken action on this matter and he felt that additional public
<br />input would be repetitious, however, he would allow very brief comments
<br />from those that wished to speak on this issue.
<br />Speaking in opposition to Ordinance No. 0-19A-89 were the following:
<br />Mr. Roy Roman, 1825 Serrano Court,'Colton, addressed his comments to
<br />Councilman Rehrer, stating that Mr. Rehrer made some campaign promises
<br />during the last election in favor of rent control. Mr. Roman said he
<br />felt it was time that Councilman Rehrer lived up to those promises.
<br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS:
<br />Closed Session
<br />City Manager Leslie Keane requested a Closed Session, dealing with
<br />Personnel Matters, at the end of the Meeting.
<br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS:
<br />Street Maintenance
<br />Mr. Tom Docherty, 910 North 10th'Street, Colton, requested that the
<br />City Council consider the resurfacing of North 10th Street, between
<br />"C" and Olive Streets.
<br />It was suggested to Mr. Docherty that he contact our Public Works
<br />Director John Hutton in this regard.

<br />The City Council recessed at 8:45 p.m., to take up the business of the
<br />Redevelopment Agency for the City of Colton, and reconvened at 8:50 p.m.,
<br />all Members present.
<br />CLOSED SESSION:
<br />The City Council adjourned to Closed Session at 8:50 p. m., to discuss
<br />Personnel Matters, pursuant to Government Code Section 549579 and re-
<br />convened at 11:00 p. m., all Members present.
<br />ADJOURNMENT:
<br />Moved by Councilman Rios, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros and unani-
<br />mously passed, Mayor Gonzales adjourned the Meeting at 11:00 p. m.

<br />Lofy stated he was aware that several of the Council Members
<br />had
<br />received threats on this issue, and he wanted to state that he would
<br />not
<br />yield to political pressure or threats, and would not change his
<br />mind
<br />on the Mobile Home Rent Control issue.
