SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING <br />AUGUST 7, 1990 <br />A Specil Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held <br />on the above given date in the Council Chambers of City Hall, located <br />at 650 North La Cadena Drive, Colton, California, at 6:30 p. m., <br />Mayor Gonzales presiding. <br />Notice of Special Meeting was given on August 3, 1990, in compliance <br />with Government Code Section 54956. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />Council Members present were Rios, Cisneros, Rehrer, Lofy, and Mayor <br />Gonzales. Also present were City Manager Sotelo, City Attorney Edwards, <br />and City Clerk Ramos. <br />Reche Canyon Health Care Center <br />Community Development Director Aguilera stated the purpose for the <br />Meeting this afternoon is to have a study session on the proposed <br />Reche Canyon Health Care Center and the financing for this facility. <br />Mr. Phil Chase, of Country Villa Service Corporation, Culver City, spoke <br />about the proposed health care center to be located at 1350 Reche Canyon <br />Road, and will provide a 156 -bed skilled nursing facility. Mr. Chase <br />stated this Center will also provide jobs for the citizens of Colton and <br />a training/educational program for high school students. Mr. Chase <br />advised the Center would be open 7 days a week, 24 hours per day. Mr. <br />Chase also spoke about the amenities of the proposed Center, gardening, <br />landscaping, etc. <br />Mr. Robert L. Dossey, 24591 Del Prado Lane, Dana Point, representing <br />the applicants, National Foundation for Housing Development, Inc., spoke <br />about the financing for the Health Care Center, by the City acting as <br />the pass-through agency to issue qualified 501(c) (3) tax-exempt bonds. <br />Mr. Dossey stated the Bond Counsel will be Best, Best & Krieger. <br />Discussion then followed among Councilmembers, Staff and the represen- <br />tatives of the Health Care Center. <br />Mr. Aguilera stated Staff will prepare a resolution of intention, which <br />will be presented at the next regular Council Meeting. <br />ADJOURNMENT: <br />Moved by Councilman Lofy, seconded by Councilman Rehrer and unanimously <br />passed, Mayor Gonzales adjourned the Meeting at 7:20 p. m. <br />vat 0 744L , <br />HELEN A.
