At 6:24 p.m. Mayor Bennett <br />declared a recess and at 7:31 p.m. they reconvened with all members present as heretofore. <br />CEREMONIAL MATTERS: cont'd <br />Presentations, Awards, Proclamations <br />✓ Presentation City Manager Parrish read and presented the "American Planning <br />Association Outstanding Planning Award" which was accepted by <br />Planning Manager Soto. <br />✓ Presentation Community Services Director Smith provided a recap of the Unity Day <br />2004 event held this year and introduced Deb Farrar, Coordinator <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS: <br />Reorganization of Departments - Recommend Approval of the Reorganization of the Community <br />Services, Electric Utility and Public Services Departments. Create two new positions; General <br />Manager and Assistant General Manager in the Electric Utility Department, add both Positions <br />to the Executive Unit and Approve a Resolution Establishing the Salary Ranges for Five (5) <br />Positions, which include the General Manager, Assistant General Manager, City Engineer, <br />Community Services Director, and Information Systems Manager. Approve the Recruitment <br />and Ratification of the Executive Assistant for the Public Services Department Effective July 1, <br />2004, RESOLUTION NO. R-62-04. [Item #7, 6/1/04 agenda] <br />City Manager Parrish presented staff recommendation for the reorganization of the Community <br />Services, Electric Utility, and Public Services Departments. Creating two positions, General <br />Services Manager, in the Electrick Utillity Department , add both positions to the Executive Unite <br />and approve the resolution establishing the salary ranges for the five positions, which include <br />the General Manager Assistant General Manager, City Engineer, Community Services Director, <br />and Inforamtion services. <br />Motion/second by CM Chastain/De La Rosa to approve and adopt Resolution No. R-62-04. <br />Motion carried with CM Mitchell voting "NO" and CM Ramos "Abstain" <br />ORDINANCE: <br />Second Readinq: <br />Waive Full Reading and Pass Second Reading of an Ordinance Restating and Amending <br />Chapter 15.40 of the Colton Municipal Code Relating to Historic Preservation, ORDINANCE <br />NO. 0-26-04. <br />Motion/second by CM Chastain/Zamora to waive full reading and pass second reading <br />of Ordinance No. 0-26-04.
