Motion/second by CM Mitchell/Mayor Pro Tempore Suchil to approve and adopt Resolution No. <br />R-72.07. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: <br />OATH OF OFFICE <br />Mayor Kelly J. Chastain calls the Newly -elected City Official forward. Oath of Office is <br />administered by Carolina R. Padilla, City Clerk and Certificate of Election is Issued. <br />COMMENTS FROM INCOMING CITY OFFICIAL <br />Councilmember Vincent Yzaguirre acknowledged his father who had passed away <br />several years past, and requested that his mother come forward to be recognized for <br />her support throughout this campaign and all of his life. He further acknowledged friends <br />and citizens of the community, expressing gratitude to all for their support, and made <br />comments on individual goals and visions for the City of Colton. Members of the board <br />made welcoming comments. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: <br />POSSIBLE CONFLICT OF INTEREST DISCLOSURES FOR THE COUNCIL MEETING OF <br />JUNE 19, 2007. <br />Mayor Chastain asked the members present if there were any agenda items that were a conflict <br />of interest pursuant to CMC Section 2.04.030. None disclosed. <br />CEREMONIAL MATTERS: <br />Presentations, Awards, Proclamations <br />• Business Spotlight Judith Clarke, RDA Project Manager, who introduced the City of <br />Colton business spotlight recipient EI Burrito Mexican Food #1, <br />located in District 3, Mayor Chastain and CM Yzaguirre presented <br />a certificate of appreciation to Cathy Thomas and Sybil Meister <br />owners. <br />• Introduction Police Chief Miller announced the filling of the Police Captain, <br />explained the selection process, and introduced the selected <br />candidate, Captain Steve Ward. <br />Mayor Chastain acknowledged dignitaries in the audience Josie Gonzales, San Bernardino <br />Board of Supervisors, and Frank Ybarra, President CJUSD Board Member; <br />CM De La Rosa requested that Items 20 and 26 be pulled forward.
