SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL/REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY/COLTON UTILITY AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF COLTON JOINED WITH THE UTILITIES COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF COLTON JULY 29, 2008 A Special Meeting of the City Council/Redevelopment Agency/Colton Utility Authority Joined with the Utilities commission of the City of Colton was held at 6:02 p.m., on the above -given date in the Council Chambers, 650 N. La Cadena Drive, Colton, CA 92324 with Mayor Chastain presiding. Notice of Special Meeting was given on June 12, 2008, in compliance with Government Code Section 54956. ROLL CALL Councilmembers present were, Suchil, Oliva, Yzaguirre, Toro, Mayor Pro Tempore Mitchell and Mayor Chastain. Also present were City Manager Parrish, and Chief Deputy City Clerk Flores. Absent: CM De La Rosa. ROLL CALL UTILITIES COMMISSION: Commissioners present were Baca (arrived at 6:12 p.m.) Lord, Anaya, Espudo, Larson, Jaramillo and Chairperson Lord. Also present was Community Development Director Zamora PUBLIC COMMENT: The following citizens addressed the council: None MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: POSSIBLE CONFLICT OF INTEREST DISCLOSURES FOR THE COUNCIL MEETING OF JULY 29, 2008. Mayor Chastain asked the members present if there were any agenda items that were a conflict of interest pursuant to CMC Section 2.04.030. None disclosed. MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: Said Special Meeting shall be for the purpose of studying and or taking action on the following matters: Agua Mansa Power Plant Expansion Update. General Manager Olko provided a PowerPoint presentation to update Councilmember's and Utilities Commissioners on some of the challenges facing the electric utility with regards to generation, transmission, and distribution, the Electric Utility department is doing to meet those challenges, and the financial impact to both the utility and the ratepayers. 2008 JULY 29 JT SPC CC/RDA/CUA MEETING - 1 -
