That Section 3 of Ordinance No. 609 and Section <br />2.12.040 of the Colton Municipal Code are amended to read as follows: <br />Before entering upon the duties of their offices, <br />the City Clerk and City Treasurer shall each <br />execute a bond to the City. The penal sum of <br />the bond shall be in a reasonable amount recom- <br />mended by the City Attorney and fixed by the <br />City Council, by resolution, and may be changed <br />during their terms of office. Premium on these <br />bonds, if executed by a surety company authorized <br />to do business in the state, shall be paid by <br />the City out of its General Fund. <br />SECTION 2. Severability. If any section, subsection, subdivision, <br />sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance is for any reason held to be <br />unconstitutional, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining <br />portions of this Ordinance. The Council hereby declares that it would have <br />passed this Ordinance, and each section, subsection, subdivision, sentence, <br />clause and phrase thereof, irrespective of the fact that any one or more sections <br />subsections, subdivisions, sentences, clauses, or phrases be declared unconsti- <br />tutional. <br />SECTION 3. Repeal. All ordinances and/or amendments to ordinances <br />in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. <br />PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 6th? day April, 1976. <br />ABE E.
