THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That Section 3 of Ordinance No. 609 and Section 2.12.040 of the Colton Municipal Code are amended to read as follows: Before entering upon the duties of their offices, the City Clerk and City Treasurer shall each execute a bond to the City. The penal sum of the bond shall be in a reasonable amount recom- mended by the City Attorney and fixed by the City Council, by resolution, and may be changed during their terms of office. Premium on these bonds, if executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the state, shall be paid by the City out of its General Fund. SECTION 2. Severability. If any section, subsection, subdivision, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance is for any reason held to be unconstitutional, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance. The Council hereby declares that it would have passed this Ordinance, and each section, subsection, subdivision, sentence, clause and phrase thereof, irrespective of the fact that any one or more sections subsections, subdivisions, sentences, clauses, or phrases be declared unconsti- tutional. SECTION 3. Repeal. All ordinances and/or amendments to ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 6th? day April, 1976. ABE E. BEL Mayor ATTEST: a.
