Interior signs within a structure not visible from the exterior of the structure, except <br />temporary window signs. <br />I. Signs and advertising for the California State Lottery as authorized by California <br />Government Code, Section 8800 et seq. <br />J. Kiosk signs and other similar identification signs placed on city property and approved by <br />the planning commission and/or city council that are used to identify and promote <br />economic development efforts or significant commercial enterprises in the city. For <br />purposes of this subsection the term "significant commercial enterprises" shall be defined <br />as a grouping of similarly situated commercial land uses with an integrated commercial or <br />economic development theme. <br />K. Signs carried by individuals while standing, sitting, or traveling along any public sidewalk <br />or other public property not to exceed two square feet. Such signs may not be <br />illuminated. <br />L. Signs placed within community sports facilities as defined in Section 12.24.141. (Ord. 0- <br />15-03 § 2, 2003) <br />M. Construction signs are allowed on private property outside of the public right-of-way and <br />any required clear vision triangle, with the following limitations: <br />1. Residential subdivisions. One sign, limited to a maximum of 32 square feet. May <br />only be erected after approval of tentative map and must be removed immediately <br />upon the close of escrow of the sale of the last lot. The maximum height shall be <br />eight feet. <br />2. Multiple -family residential. One sign, not exceeding twenty-four square feet in area, <br />may be placed on property upon which an apartment building is under construction or <br />for which a site plan has been approved. Such sign shall be subject to removal when <br />the vacancy rate is reduced to twenty-five percent or less. The maximum height shall <br />be five feet. <br />3. Nonresidential property. One sign per property not to exceed 32 square feet in area. <br />The maximum height shall be five feet. The sign may not be illuminated. Such signs <br />shall not be erected prior to the commencement of construction or grading and shall <br />be removed upon first issuance of an occupancy certificate for the building(s). <br />N. Future tenant signs. One future tenant identification sign per property shall be permitted <br />not to exceed 32 square feet in area. A future tenant identification sign listing the name of <br />future tenants, responsible agent or realtor, and identification of the specific complex shall <br />be encouraged. Said sign is permitted until such time as a certificate of occupancy is <br />issued for the building(s). The maximum height shall be five feet. The sign may not be <br />illuminated. <br />O. Real estate for sale or rental signs provided they are not located in the public right-of-way. <br />P. Directional signs whose function is guiding traffic, parking, and loading on private <br />property, with no advertising/commercial message. Sign area is limited to a maximum of <br />six square feet per sign. <br />-14- <br />
