2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 0-03-10 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, <br />CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTIONS 15.04.010, 15.04.020, AND 15.04.090 <br />OF TITLE 15 AND CHAPTER 15.16 OF THE COLTON MUNICIPAL <br />CODE AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE 2010 EDITION OF THE <br />CALIFORNIA BUILDING STANDARDS CODE (CALIFORNIA CODE OF <br />REGULATIONS, TITLE 24); INCORPORATING THE 2010 CALIFORNIA <br />BUILDING CODE, (INCORPORATING AND AMENDING THE 2009 <br />INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODE); THE 2010 CALIFORNIA <br />ADMINISTRATIVE CODE; THE 2010 CALIFORNIA ELECTRICAL <br />CODE (INCORPORATING AND AMENDING THE 2008 NATIONAL <br />ELECTRICAL CODE); THE 2010 CALIFORNIA MECHANICAL CODE <br />(INCORPORATING AND AMENDING THE 2009 UNIFORM <br />MECHANICAL CODE); THE 2010 CALIFORNIA PLUMBING CODE <br />(INCORPORATING AND AMENDING THE 2009 UNIFORM PLUMBING <br />CODE); THE 2010 CALIFORNIA RESIDENTIAL CODE (BASED ON THE <br />2009 INTERNATIONAL RESIDENTIAL CODE); THE 2010 CALIFORNIA <br />FIRE CODE (INCORPORATING AND AMENDING THE 2009 <br />INTERNATIONAL FIRE CODE); AND THE 2010 CALIFORNIA GREEN <br />BUILDING STANDARDS CODE TOGETHER WITH CERTAIN <br />ADDITIONS, INSERTIONS, DELETIONS AND CHANGES THERETO; <br />ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE UNIFORM CODE FOR THE <br />ABATEMENT OF DANGEROUS BUILDINGS, 1997 EDITION; AND THE <br />INTERNATIONAL PROPERTY MAINTENANCE CODE, 2009 EDITION; <br />WITH APPENDICES AND AMENDMENTS THERETO <br />WHEREAS, California Government Code Section 50022.1 et seq. authorizes the <br />City of Colton ("City") to adopt by reference the California Building Standards Code, 2010 <br />Edition (Title 24 of the California Code of Regulations) adopting certain uniform codes, including <br />the 2010 California Building Code, the 2010 California Administrative Code, the 2010 California <br />Mechanical Code, the 2010 California Plumbing Code, the 2010 California Electrical Code, the <br />2010 California Green Building Standards Code, the 2010 California Residential Code, and the <br />2010 California Fire Code and authorizes the City to adopt other uniform codes, including, <br />without limitation, the 1997 Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, and the <br />2009 International Property Maintenance Code; and <br />WHEREAS, the California Building Standards Commission ("Commission") <br />recently adopted new amendments to the California Building Standards Code; and <br />WHEREAS, California Health & Safety Code, Sections 17958.5 and 18941.5 <br />authorize cities and counties to modify the California Building Standards Code by adopting more <br />restrictive building standards and modifications if such standards and modifications are <br />accompanied by express findings that they are reasonably necessary because of local climatic, <br />geological or topographical conditions; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton desires to adopt the California Building Standards <br />Code as adopted by the State of California Building Standards Commission in Title 24 of the <br />California Code of Regulations (collectively "the Codes") and such other uniform codes as <br />specified herein, with necessary amendments to assure the Codes are tailored to the particular <br />- 1 - <br />
