I RESOLUTION NO. R-149-07 <br />2 <br />3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON TO HAVE A PUBLIC <br />4 PROCEEDING AS AN AGENDA ITEM DURING THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING ON TUESDAY <br />DECEMBER 4, 2007 TO DISCUSS FUNDING OF FINANCIAL INCENTIVES FOR CUSTOMERS' <br />5 SOLAR ENERGY SYSTEMS AS REQUIRED BY SB-1. <br />6 <br />WHEREAS, On August 21, 2006 the State of California approved SB-1, The <br />7 <br />California Solar Initiative; and <br />8 <br />WHEREAS, SB 1 requires the governing body of publicly owned electric utilities to <br />9 <br />hold a public proceeding before January 1, 2008 to determine what additional funding, if any, is <br />10 <br />necessary to provide the incentives to meet the utility's share of the statewide goals; and <br />11 <br />WHEREAS, Colton Electric Utility is a publicly owned electric utility in the State of <br />12 <br />13 California and the City Council of the City of Colton is the governing body; and <br />14 WHEREAS, To hold a public proceeding the City Council must resolve to hold such a <br />15 proceeding. <br />16 BE IT NOW THEREFORE RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br />17 SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Colton will hold a public proceeding <br />during the City Council of the City of Colton meeting on Tuesday December 4, 2007 to discuss <br />18 funding of financial incentives for customers' solar energy systems as r6quired by SB-1. <br />19 SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. <br />20 SECTION 3.
