R-72-07 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />COLTON, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE <br />SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON JUNE 5, 2007, <br />DECLARING THE RESULT THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER <br />PROVISIONS OF LAW. <br />Whereas, a Special Municipal Election was held and conducted in the City of Colton, <br />California on Tuesday, June 6, 2007, as required by law; and <br />Whereas, notice of the Election was duly given in the time, form and manner as <br />provided by law; that voting precincts were properly established; that election officers were <br />appointed and that in all respects the election was held and conducted and the votes were <br />cast, received and canvassed and the returns made and declared in the time, form and <br />manner as required by the provisions of the Elections Code of the State of California for the <br />holding of elections in general law cities; and <br />Whereas, pursuant to Resolution No. R-01-07 adopted January 3, 2007 and <br />IResolution No. R-03-07 adopted January 16, 2007 the County Registrar of Voters canvassed <br />I the returns of the election and has certified the results to this City Council, the results are <br />I received, attached and made part hereof as Exhibit "A." <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, <br />I I CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. That the whole number of ballots cast in the City as to the Special <br />Municipal Election for Councilmember/District 3 to be elected to fill the unexpired term of the <br />former incumbent, except absent voter ballots, was 238. <br />That the whole number of absent voter ballots cast in the City was 261, making a total <br />of 760 ballots cast in the City. <br />SECTION 2. That the names of persons voted for at the election for <br />Council member/District 3 are as follows: <br />KEN KOPERSKI <br />JEREMY BACA <br />LOUIE MENDEZ <br />VINCENT YZAGUIRRE <br />ANTONIO YANAS JR. <br />
