ARTICLE I - EMPLOYER-EMPLOYEE RELATIONS <br />SECTION l: Reco�nition <br />The City hereby recognizes the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local <br />47, as the representative of employees in the Electric Unit, which encompasses the following <br />classifications. <br />Consumer Service - Field Representative I <br />Consumer Service - Field Representative II Power Line Technician Apprentice <br />Electric Utility Inspector Seniar Consumer Service Field Rep. <br />Engineering GIS Technician Senior Meter Reader <br />Line Crew Supervisor Senior Substation Electrician <br />Maintenance Electrician Service Crew Supervisor <br />Meter Operations Supervisor Sub-Station Electrician <br />Meter Technician Sub-Station Electrician Apprentice <br />Meter Reader Sub-Station Helper <br />Power Line Helper Sub-Station Operations Supervisor <br />Power Line Technician Utility Worker <br />The city realizes that some positions are no longer required for the daily operations of the <br />Electric Utility Department. Some of these positions include—but are not limited to—Meter <br />Reader and Senior Meter Reader. The city and Union will meet and confer to discuss these and <br />any other positions. <br />SECTION 2: Scope Of Representation <br />Scope of representation shall include all matters pertaining to wages, hours, and other terms and <br />conditions of employment. <br />SECTION 3: Union Membership—A�encv Shon <br />The Union shall have the sole and exclusive right to have membership dues deducted for <br />employees covered by this agreement by the City upon appropriate written authorization from <br />such employee. <br />Except as set for the below, employees, as a condition of employment, shall, within thirty (30) <br />days, either join the Union or pay to the Union a service fee in an amount not to exceed the <br />monthly dues assessed by the Union. <br />Any employee who is a member of a bona fide religion, body or sect, which has historically held <br />conscientious objection to joining or financially supporting public employee organizations shall <br />not be required to join or financially support the Union as a condition of employment. Such <br />employee shall pay an amount equivalent to regular Union dues to a non-religious, non-labor <br />charitable fund, chosen by the employee, exempt from taxation under Section 501(c)(3) of the <br />Internal Revenue Code.
