R-26-08 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, <br />AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF TWO APPLICATIONS FOR THE <br />CALIFORNIA INTEGRATED WASTE BOARD MANAGEMENT <br />RUBBERIZED ASPHALT CONCRETE USE GRANT PROGRAM AND <br />RUBBERIZED ASPHALT CONCRETE CHIP SEAL GRANT PROGRAM <br />REQUESTING $54,910 IN GRANT FUNDING. <br />WHEREAS, Public Resources Code Sections 42800 et. Seq. established the waste tire <br />program for the State of California and assigns responsibility for its implementation to the California <br />Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB); and <br />WHEREAS, CIWMB IS authorized to award grants under the waste tire program as identified <br />in its Five -Year Plan for the Waste Tire Recycling Management Program; and <br />WHEREAS, procedures established by the State of California and the CIWMB require each <br />applicant to certify by resolution the approval of the applicant's governing body for submittal of a <br />grant application before submission of said application to the CIWMB; and <br />WHEREAS, if awarded a grant, The City of Colton will enter into a Grant Agreement with <br />the CIWMB for implementation of a tire -related grant. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DO <br />HEREBY RESOLVE that the City of Colton authorizes the submittal of an application to the <br />CIWMB for any or all available CIWMB tire -related grants for the period of March 4, 2008 to March <br />4, 2013. The City Manager of the City of Colton or his/her designee is hereby authorized and <br />empowered to execute in the name of the City of Colton all necessary documents, including but no <br />limited to, application, contracts, agreements, amendments, and payment request necessary to secure <br />grant funds and to implement and carry out the purposes specified in the grant application. <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 4th DAY OF MARCH 2008. <br />4,�� 9 C <br />KELLY J. r1f&AIN <br />Mayor <br />AT T: <br />CAROLINA R.
