R-57-08 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION COLLECT MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE AND DISPOSAL SERVICE RATES FOR FISCAL YEAR 2008/2009. WHEREAS, the City of Colton is a municipal corporation duly organized and existing pursuant to the Constitution and laws of the State of California ("City"); WHEREAS, the City Council has by previous action entered into a service agreement with Republic Services for the collection and disposal of residential and commercial waste within the City of Colton. WHEREAS, annual rates are adjusted to include any increases to the local CPI and San Bernardino County disposal fees. WHEREAS, the service rates for fiscal year 2008/2009 have been included as Exhibit A to this Resolution. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, DETERMINED, AND ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, AS FOLLOWS: 1. Following notice duly given, the City Council has held a full and fair public hearing regarding the collection of fiscal year 2008/2009 Municipal Solid Waste and Disposal Service Rates for which a report was prepared in connection therewith, and considered oral and written statements, protests and communications made or filed by interested persons regarding these matters was heard. 2. Based upon its review of the report, the City Council hereby finds and determines that Municipal Solid Waste and Disposal Services for fiscal year 2008/2009, beginning July 1, 2008 and ending June 30, 2009, be provided Colton property owners based upon the rates attached hereto as Exhibit W. The rates for said Solid Waste Services includes is not limited to: trash collection, trash disposal, yard waste collection and processing, recycle collection and processing, and bulky -item collection.
