1 <br />2 RESOLUTION NO R-60-08 <br />3 <br />4 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />SETTING PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING PROPOSED UPDATES TO <br />5 PARK DEDICATION REQUIREMENTS AND PARK DEVELOPMENT <br />IMPACT FEES <br />6 <br />7 WHEREAS, the "Quimby Act," Section 66477 of the Government Code, gives cities the <br />authority to enact legislation requiring the dedication of park land and/or the payment of fees in- <br />8 lieu thereof by those wishing to bring development to the community, and; <br />9 <br />10 WHEREAS, the Mitigation Fee Act, as found in Government Code 66000 et seq, grants <br />cities the authority to adopt park development impact fees on new development within the city to <br />11 ensure the adequate provision of park space and park improvements to mitigate the impact of <br />12 said development, and; <br />13 <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Colton wishes to consider updates to current <br />14 City Ordinance regarding park dedication requirements and park development impact fees to <br />15 ensure the continued provision of sufficient open space and park improvements to accommodate <br />16 Colton's growing population. <br />17 NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br />18 <br />19 1. The City Council does hereby intend to consider updates to requirements <br />for park dedication and park development impact fees for development within the city. <br />20 <br />2.
