1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />RESOLUTION NO R-71-08 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />AUTHORIZING STAFF TO PREPARE A PLAN TO DEVELOP A <br />SPORTS COMPLEX IN THE WARM CREEK BASIN AREA OF THE <br />CITY <br />WHEREAS, on April 1, 2008, the City Council, recognizing the potential need for a <br />sports complex facility in Colton, directed the Recreation & Parks Commission to consider needs <br />and location for such a facility, and; <br />WHEREAS, the Colton Recreation & Parks Commission subsequently visited <br />prospective locations for such a facility, and met with local youth sports organizations to <br />facilitate their input into needs for such a complex, and; <br />WHEREAS, the Colton Recreation & Parks Commission, based on their findings <br />pursuant to these meetings, recommended to the City Council that such a facility is needed, that <br />soccer/football fields should be priority for the facility, and that the Warm Creek Basin area of <br />Colton presents the most suitable location for such a facility. <br />NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. That the development of a City sports complex must be a priority for the <br />City, based on the needs of Colton's youth, and relative shortage of <br />suitable space for sports fields in the community. <br />2. The City Council does hereby authorize staff to prepare a plan to develop <br />a sports complex in the Warm Creek Basin area of Colton. <br />3. Such development plan shall be brought back to the City Council at a date, <br />as soon as feasible, for further consideration. <br />PASSED, APPROVED ANI <br />I ATTEST: <br />AROLINA R.
