R-38-09 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTION <br />NO. R-55-02 AS IT PERTAINS TO THE ALLOCATION OF <br />FIREWORKS LICENSES FOR CIVIC NON-PROFIT <br />ORGANIZATIONS <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton approved Resolution R-55-02 on May 21, 2002; and <br />WHEREAS, Resolution R-55-02 establishes an approved list of civic non-profit <br />organizations entitled to be issued a license to operate a fireworks booth and to sell fireworks <br />thin the City of Colton; and <br />WHEREAS, this Resolution shall remain in effect until further action by resolution of <br />the City Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the organizations known as the American Legion Post 155 and the Kiwanis <br />Club of Colton have chosen to not participate in the selling of fireworks in 2009; and <br />WHEREAS, the Fire Department received a letters signed by the four remaining civic <br />profit organizations supporting the re -allotment of the fireworks licenses; and <br />WHEREAS, the Colton Rotary Club had previously shared a fireworks license with the <br />ican Legion Post 155; and <br />WHEREAS, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6476 had previously shared a fireworks <br />license with the Cooley Ranch Kiwanis; and <br />WHEREAS, upon review, the Fire Department is in agreement with the proposed <br />for the re -allotment of fireworks licenses for the civic non-profit organizations. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Colton, <br />that Resolution No. R-55-02 is amended to allocate the fireworks licenses for the <br />ivic non-profit organizations as follows: <br />I <br />
