R-39-09 <br />A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />ESTABLISHING A SEWER SYSTEM MANAGEMENT PLAN <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton (City) owns and operates mare than 1-mile of <br />public sewer line; and <br />WHEREAS, on May 2, 2006, the State of California Water Resources Control <br />Board adopted Waste Discharge Order No. 2006-0003-DWQ, Statewide General Waste <br />Discharge Requirements (GWDR) for Sanitary Sewer Systems that applies to all public <br />agencies that own more than 1-mile of sewer line; and <br />WHEREAS, the goal of the GWDR is to eliminate the occurrence of <br />preventable sanitary sewer overflows by requiring public agencies to develop and <br />implement written programs that improve the effectiveness and sustainability of <br />existing sewer systems; and <br />WHEREAS, the City is required by the GWDR to adopt a Sewer System <br />Management Plan (SSMP) that identifies practices, procedures, and goals that comply <br />with the provisions of the GWDR prior to August 2, 2009; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of <br />Colton does hereby adopt the attached, (Exhibit "A") Sewer System Management Plan. <br />PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 16th day of June, 2009 <br />rF !, <br />i <br />:�:- � �._ �. <br />KELLY�' .
