R-31-10 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON SUPPORTING THE CONCEPT OF BLUE MOUNTAIN PARK WHEREAS, the "Friends of Blue Mountain" is a local non-profit corporation which has been established to assist in the acquisition of private lands for conversion to a public park, and has launched an effort to establish a public park on the site of Blue Mountain, and; WHEREAS, a map of the proposed park location is attached as Exhibit "A" to this resolution, and; WHEREAS, much of this proposed park would be located within the City of Colton, and the "Friends of Blue Mountain" have requested the support of City Council in its efforts to conceptually establish such a park on Blue Mountain, and; WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that much of this land in the City of Colton is privately owned and does not wish to infringe on any ownership or development rights associated with said property, and; WHEREAS, the site of Blue Mountain is potentially a valuable natural resource, and conceptually represents a good location for a public park, and; WHEREAS, a park on the site of Blue Mountain has the potential to provide connectivity between park land in Riverside County and the Santa Ana River Trail in Colton, and; WHEREAS, the Colton City Council supports public parks as a valuable resource to the community. NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Colton supports the concept of a public park on the site of Blue Mountain.
