R-65-10 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF COLTON APPROVING TO CHANGE THE <br />CALIFORNIA ROAD SYSTEM (CRS) MAP FUNCTIONAL <br />CLASSIFICATION OF IOWA AVENUE AND MAIN <br />STREET <br />WHEREAS, incorporated cities are responsible for reviewing the California Road System <br />(CRS) maps maintained by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and for <br />initiating requests for any changes to the functional classification of local streets and roads under <br />their jurisdictions; and, <br />WHEREAS, Functional Classification is identified by Federal Highway Administration <br />(FHWA) as a key item in transportation data, and Federal Aid eligibility is aligned with <br />functional classification; and, <br />WHEREAS, Exhibit "A" is a Functional Classification Change Form provided by <br />Caltrans that meets their requirements and the City Council wishes to meet the requirements of <br />the Federal and State authorities in changing the functional classification of Iowa Avenue from <br />Local to Minor Arterial and Main Street from Local to Collector; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council approved as attached in Exhibit "A" the Functional <br />Classification Change Form for Iowa Avenue and Main Street. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the City Council authorizes <br />the City Manager or his/her designee to sign the Functional Classification Change request on <br />behalf of the City of Colton. <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 21St day of September 2010. <br />ATTEST: <br />Q. <br />EILEEN C.
