WHEREAS, the City used a Pavement Management System to develop the SB 1 project <br />1 <br />list to ensure revenues are being used on the most high-priority and cost-effective projects that <br />2 <br />also meet the communities priorities for transportation investment; and <br />3 <br />4 WHEREAS, the funding from SB 1 will help the City maintain and rehabilitate <br />5 streets/roads, bridges and active transportation infrastructure throughout the City this year and <br />6 other similar projects into the future; and <br />7 WHEREAS, the 2016 California Statewide Local Streets and Roads Needs Assessment <br />8 found that majority of the City's streets and roads are in an at-risk/poor condition and this <br />9 <br />revenue will help us increase the overall quality of our road system and over the next decade will <br />10 <br />bring our streets and roads into a very poor condition; and <br />11 <br />12 WHEREAS, maintaining and preserving the local street and road system in good <br />13 condition will reduce drive times and traffic congestion, improve bicycle safety, and make the <br />14 pedestrian experience safer and more appealing, which leads to reduce vehicle emissions helping <br />15 the State achieve its air quality and greenhouse gas emissions reductions goals; and <br />16 WHEREAS, , the SB 1 project list and overall investment in our local streets and roads <br />17 <br />infrastructure with a focus on basic maintenance and safety, investing in complete streets <br />18 <br />19 infrastructure, and using cutting-edge technology, materials and practices, will have significant <br />20 positive co -benefits statewide. <br />21 NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES <br />22 HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br />23 <br />Section 1: The Recital preceding in this Resolution are true and correct and are incorporated into <br />24 <br />this Resolution by reference. <br />25 <br />26 Section 2: The City Council authorizes the adoption of the following List of Projects to be funded <br />27 by Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account (SB -1) revenues include: <br />28 a. San Bernardino Ave. (Eucalyptus to Indigo Ave.) — 10 years (estimated useful life) — <br />-2- <br />
