1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 ORDINANCE NO. 0-01-18 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON AMENDING VARIOUS SECTIONS OF CHAPTER 2.30 OF TITLE 2 OF THE COLTON MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING QUALIFICATIONS AND ELIGIBILITY FOR APPOINTMENT TO A COMMISSION OR COMMITTEE AND THE TERMS OF COMMISSIONERS AND COMMITTEE MEMBERS WHEREAS, Chapter 15.40 of the Colton Municipal Code provides the regulations necessary as a means of recognition, preservation, and maintenance of resources of cultural, aesthetic, or historical significance within the City of Colton; and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to amend the provisions relating to the delegated powers and duties of the Historic Preservation Commission; and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to delegate the powers and duties of the Historic Preservation Commission to the City of Colton's Planning Commission. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: Chapter 15.40 of Title 15 of the Colton Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "Chapter 15.40 - HISTORIC PRESERVATION Sections: 15.40.010 - Title. The Ordinance codified in this chapter Shall be known as the "Historic Preservation Ordinance of the City of Colton." 15.40.020 - Purpose and intent. The City finds, determines and declares: A. That the State Legislature of California, pursuant to Government Code Sections 37361 and 25373, has recognized the value of identifying, protecting, and preserving places, Buildings, Structures, and other objects of historical, aesthetic, and cultural importance and has empowered cities to adopt regulations and incentives for the protection, enhancement, perpetuation, and Use of such places, Buildings, Structures, and other objects; Ordinance No. 0-01-18 1 _
