(THOMAS <br />HAYWARD) PURSUANT TO CALIFORNIA GOVERNMENT CODE, SECTION 37420 ET SEQ. <br /> <br />Mayor DeLaRosa declared the Public Hearing Open. <br /> <br />City Clerk Padilla submitted the Affidavit of Publication (on file in the City Clerk’s Office) and there were no protests <br />or objections thereto. <br /> <br />Staff Presentation <br />David Kolk, Utilities Director, presented for Council consideration an overview of the agen da report and <br />requested approval of staff’s recommendation. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />None <br /> <br />Motion and Second by CM Woods/CM Navarro to close the Public Hearing. <br />Vote: Motion carried. <br /> <br />Motion and Second by CM Woods/CM González to approve staff’s recommendation. <br />Vote: Motion carried. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ORAL REPORTS AND COMMENTS <br />Comments from Mayor and Council on various issues and activities throughout the community. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER’S REPORTS <br />City Manager Smith informed Council as it related to the Public Hearing for the Solid Waste increase in fees set <br />for September 19, 2017; the Utilities Commission requested the opportunity to meet the hauler and review their <br />proposal at the Utilities Commission Meeting on September 11, 2017; and to allow the Commission to present <br />their recommendation to Council as part of the Public Hearing report; no objection by the Councilmembers <br />present. <br /> <br />The City website has a news portion that will be utilized to inform the community in a response format on <br />citizens inquires and their items of interest. <br />
