2017 AUGUST 21 CC/SARDA/CUA/CPFA/CHA SPECIAL MEETING - 2 - <br /> <br />City Clerk Padilla reviewed an explained in detail the following six segments: <br /> <br />1. Explanation of Format for Consideration of Appointment <br /> <br />2. City Council Comments <br /> <br />3. City Council Nominations <br /> <br />4. Announcement of Nominees <br /> <br />5. Selection of Nominee for Appointment by Consensus <br /> <br />6. If No Nominee Selected – Consideration of Resolution Calling Election <br /> <br />Two possible scoring methods were made available for Council to use as a tool. <br /> <br />Prior to the council meeting, a copy of each applicants documentation was provided to the <br />Councilmembers; upon review of the application each Councilmember had a three section <br />analysis with maximum points for each section: <br /> <br /> Community Involvement, Education & Knowledge of District (Years Living in <br />City/District 2) (10 pts. max.); <br /> <br /> Why are you interested in serving on the City Council and what contributions do you <br />hope to make? (10 pts. Max.); and, <br /> <br /> Describe what you believe are the major concerns of the City’s residents and businesses. <br />How do you think these concerns should be met by the City? (5 pts. max.) <br /> <br />The interviews were conducted in an open forum; where each applicant will address the Council <br />dais; the applicants were interviewed in the following order: <br /> Ernest Cisneros <br /> Henry ‘Mike’ Razo <br /> Frank Gonzales <br />The applicants were escorted to a separate area outside of the Council Chamber and would be <br />called in the order listed above; each will remain outside the Chamber until all interviews are <br />completed. <br /> <br />Each applicant will be asked the same questions by City Clerk Padilla: <br /> <br /> Tell us a little bit about yourself (5 pts. max.). <br /> <br /> Explain how your life experience (personal, professional, and/or other) prepares you for <br />your role as a Colton City Councilmember (10 pts. max.). <br /> <br /> Share your philosophy on the role of the City Council and role of the Councilmember in <br />governing the City of Colton (10 pts. max.).
