Suchil <br /> <br />Council Members Absent <br />None <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS <br /> <br />POSSIBLE CONFLICT OF INTEREST DISCLOSURES FOR THE COUNCIL MEETING OF <br />OCTOBER 19, 2017. <br /> <br />GIFT DISCLOSURES <br />Mayor DeLaRosa asked the members present if there were any agenda items that were a conflict <br />of interest, pursuant to CMC Section 2.04.030. None disclosed. <br /> <br />AB 1234 ORAL REPORTS <br />Mayor DeLaRosa asked the members present if there were any brief reports on meetings <br />attended at the expense of the City. (GC Section 53232.3(d). None disclosed. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />None <br /> <br />BUSINESS ITEMS <br /> <br />1. Workshop on Solid Waste Rate Increase. <br /> <br />Mayor DeLaRosa announced full Council met with staff and legal counsel and received <br />extensive legal information; there is a consensus in relation as to what was talked about and <br />would like a 2nd opinion from someone that works in the solid waste profession; Council is here <br />to give our residents/business community the right and through information; anything that will <br />lead us to make a decision to make rate increases; to the CR&R organization, Council is willing <br />to work with CR&R; but it is important to vet it out and look at every possible way to serve the <br />community and receive another opinion from a person familiar with the solid waste industry; <br />therefore, we will seek additional options that the City might have a different opinion. <br /> <br />In conclusion Mayor DeLaRosa announced, by full consensus of Councilmembers present, the <br />Public Hearing on the Solid Waste Collection Service Rate Increases to be continued. <br /> <br />
