R-03-17 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />REQUESTING TO INCREASE THE PARK AND DEVELOPMENT FUND IN <br />THE AMOUNT OF $15,000 FOR PARK IMPROVEMENT <br />WHEREAS, It is recommended that the City Council, approve the M Street and Mt. <br />Vernon memorial grove design as reviewed by the Recreation & Parks Commission for <br />consideration and recommendation to the Colton City Council and approve R-03-17 to increase <br />the Park and Development Fund account in the amount of $15,000 for park improvements in <br />account #248-6200-6205-3890-0000-000; and <br />WHEREAS, The Colton City Council approved Resolution No R-10-16 authorizing <br />the Incredible Edible Community Garden to donate goods and services for a memorial grove in <br />honor of the victims of the San Bernardino County shooting which occurred on December 2, <br />2015, including Mr. Thalasino, a resident of Colton; and <br />WHEREAS, On January 18'`, 2017 the Recreation and Parks Commission were <br />presented with a design charrette for consideration and recommendation to the Colton City <br />Council. After review, the recommendation was granted; and <br />WHEREAS, The Incredible Edible is including improvements for the entire 30,000 sq. <br />ft. portion of the existing park. The City will be providing improvements to the rest of the parcel <br />which will include a parking lot. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES <br />HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Approve authorizing an increase to the Park and <br />Development Fund in the amount of $15,000 in account #248-6200-6205-3890-0000-000. <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of February 2017 <br />ATTEST: <br />Sabdi Sanc MC <br />Chief Deputy City Clerk <br />Da ' J.J.
