R-09-17 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />ACCEPTING A 2016 SCAG SUSTAINAIBLITY PLANNING GRANT AWARD <br />IN THE AMOUNT OF $160,000.00 AND AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR <br />FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING JULY 1, 2016 AND ENDING JUNE 30, 2017 <br />IN THE AMOUNT OF $160,000.00 <br />WHEREAS, the Southern California Association of Governments (SLAG) has <br />established the Sustainability Planning Grants Program in order to strengthen <br />partnerships with local governments by providing consultant services as well as <br />financial and technical resources for selected projects; and <br />WHEREAS, SCAG has issued a Call for Proposals to support projects with the <br />following goals: <br />• Provide needed planning resources to local jurisdictions for sustainability <br />planning efforts; <br />• Develop local plans that support the implementation of the 2016 RTP/SCS; <br />• Increase the region's competitiveness for federal and state funds, including <br />the California Active Transportation Program and Greenhouse Gas Reduction Funds; <br />WHEREAS, on November 17, 2016, the City of Colton submitted a proposal to <br />prepare a "South Colton Revitalization Plan (Livable Corridor Plan)" under the <br />Integrated Land Use/ Focused Purpose category of the Grant Program; and <br />WHERAS, on February 2, 2017, the SCAG Regional Council approved the City <br />of Colton's proposal. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of <br />Colton does hereby determines and declares as follows: <br />1 <br />
