1 2 RESOLUTION NO. R-14-17 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON TO SEEK FUNDING 4 FROM THE URBAN AND COMMUNITY FORESTRY GRANT PROGRAM AS PROVIDED 5 THROUGH THE GREENHOUSE GAS 6 REDUCTION FUND 7 8 WHEREAS, the Governor of the State of California in cooperation with the 9 California State Legislature has enacted State of California Greenhouse Gas Reduction Funding, which provides funds to the State of California and its political subdivisions for 10 urban forestry programs; and 11 12 WHEREAS, the State Department of Forestry and Fire Protection has been 13 delegated the responsibility for the administration of the program within the State, setting 14 up necessary procedures governing application by local agencies and non-profit organizations under the program; and 15 16 WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department of Forestry and 17 Fire Protection require the applicant to certify by resolution the approval of application 18 before submission of said application to the State; and 19 WHEREAS, the applicant will enter into an agreement with the State of California 20 to carry out the project; 21 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES 22 HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: 23 24 1. Approves the filing of an application for "State Greenhouse Gas Reduction Funding" urban forestry grant program funds; and 25 26 2. Certifies that applicant has or will have sufficient funds to operate and maintain the project; and 27 3. Certifies that funds under the jurisdiction of the City of Colton are available to 28 begin project; and
