R-18-16 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, TO AMEND <br />THE FISCAL YEAR 2015/2016 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT BUDGET TO SET UP AND <br />APPROPRIATE $1,250,000 FOR THE I-10 FREEWAY/RANCHO AVENUE <br />EASTBOUND ON-RAMP IMPROVEMENT PROJECT <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton is a municipal corporation duly organized and existing <br />pursuant to the Constitution and laws of the State of California ("City"); and <br />WHEREAS, the City and Caltrans will enter into a cooperative agreement for the <br />improvement of I-10/Rancho Avenue Eastbound on-ramp (Project); and <br />WHEREAS, Caltrans will provide $1.0 million State Highway Operation and Protection <br />Program (SHOPP) funding for the improvement; and <br />WHEREAS, the City needs to provide a local share in the amount of $250,000 to initiate <br />the design and environmental phase of the Project for the purpose of acquiring Encroachment <br />Permit from Caltrans; and <br />WHEREAS, the Traffic Impact Fee is a fee that is imposed by the local government <br />within the United States on a new or proposed development project to pay for all or a portion of <br />the costs of providing public services to the new development; and <br />WHEREAS, a budget appropriation for approved activities, not listed in the 2015-2016 <br />Fiscal Year budget is required and must be approved by resolution of the City Council. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF COLTON DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1 The City Council authorizes an appropriation of $1,250,000.
