R-49-16 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, <br />CALIFORNIA, UPDATING FIRE DEPARTMENT FEES FOR SERVICES <br />PERFORMED BY THE CITY, ESTABLISHING NEW FEES, AND REPEALING <br />SELECTED FEES ADOPTED BY RESOLUTION NO. R-05-13. <br />WHEREAS, on February 5, 2013, the City Council adopted Resolution No. R-05-13, <br />which established a Citywide Master Fee Schedule, including Fire Department fees; and <br />WHEREAS, since the adoption of Resolution R-05-13, costs to provide services by the <br />Fire Department have increased with no increase in fees collected; and <br />WHEREAS, with the rising costs of supplies and equipment and the increase in salaries, <br />updated fees are necessary to meet the same service levels; and <br />WHEREAS, the process to assess fees was to adjust the hourly -dependent fees by the <br />percentage salary and cost of living increase (3.8%) in staff costs; and <br />WHEREAS, fire suppression and emergency response cost recovery are based on actual <br />staff, supply, and equipment loss or damage costs. Vehicle and administrative costs are based on <br />the annually updated Agreement for Local Government Fire and Emergency Assistance, also <br />known as the California Fire Assistance Agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, a properly noticed public hearing was held on June 7, 2016 to receive public <br />comments on the proposed changes to Fire Department fees and charges. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES <br />HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. Adoption of Fees and Charges. The fees and charges set forth in Exhibit <br />"A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference shall take effect and be in force <br />according to law. <br />SECTION 2. Partial Repeal of Prior Resolution. Portions of Resolution No. R-05-13 <br />are repealed in their entirety, specifically Exhibit A, fees and charges as follows: <br />
