Section 3.24.020 of Chapter 3.24 of Title 3 of the Colton Municipal <br />Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />"3.24.020. Definitions. <br />Except where the context otherwise requires, the definitions given in this section <br />govern the construction of this chapter. <br />"Block Reservation " means an arrangement whereby a person reserves, whether on <br />an exclusive or non-exclusive basis, a room or block/group of rooms for a defined period of <br />time under a written or oral agreement with an operator, intending for such room(s) to be <br />occupied by that person's employees or agents on an intermittent, periodic or "as needed" <br />basis during that defined period of time. <br />"Hotel" means any structure, or any portion of any structure, which is occupied or <br />intended or designed for occupancy by transients for dwelling, lodging or sleeping purposes, <br />and includes any hotel, inn, tourist home or house, motel, studio hotel, bachelor hotel, lodging <br />house, rooming house, apartment house, dormitory, public or private club, mobile home or <br />house trailer at a fixed location, or other similar structure or portion thereof. <br />"Occupancy" means the use or possession, or the right to use, or possession of any <br />room or rooms or portion thereof (whether or not the person entitled to the use or possession <br />actually uses or possesses such room or rooms or portion thereqfi, in any hotel for dwelling, <br />lodging or sleeping purposes. The use or possession or right to use or possess any room or <br />any suite of connecting rooms as office space, banquet or private dining rooms, or exhibits, <br />sample or display space shall not be considered "occupancy" within the meaning of this <br />definition unless the person exercising occupancy uses or possesses, or has the right to use <br />or possess all or any portion of such room or suite of rooms for dwelling, lodging or <br />sleeping purposes. <br />5 <br />
