R-113-16 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON TO <br />AMEND THE FISCAL YEAR 2016/2017 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT BUDGET <br />TO INCREASE ACCOUNT NO. 451-1103-6987-3890 IN THE AMOUNT OF $26,070 <br />FOR THE STRIPING AND TRAFFIC SIGNAL RESTORATION PROJECT AT <br />THE INTERSECTIONS OF RANCHO AVENUE / CITRUS AVENUE AND <br />RANCHO AVENUE / MILL STREET. <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Colton (City) desires to improve the safety of <br />the streets and traffic circulation within City jurisdiction; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton modified the striping and traffic signal at the intersections <br />of Rancho Avenue/Citrus Avenue and Rancho Avenue/Mill Street to serve as a temporary truck <br />route for the Laurel Grade Separation Project; and <br />WHEREAS, the Laurel Street Grade Separation Project received funding through the San <br />Bernardino Associated Governments (SANBAG), BNSF, Union Pacific Rail Road (UPRR) and <br />the City; and <br />WHEREAS, SANBAG is the Lead Agency for Preliminary Engineering, Right of Way <br />Final Design and Construction Phase of the Laurel Street Grade Separation Project; and <br />WHEREAS, the City needs to restore the striping and traffic signal at the intersection of <br />Citrus Street/Rancho Avenue and Mill Street/Rancho Avenue after the completion of Laurel <br />Grade Separation Project; and <br />WHEREAS, the City received additional funding from the Laurel Street Grade Separation <br />Project from SANBAG in the amount of $26,070 that will be used to restore the striping and <br />traffic signal at the intersection of Citrus Avenue/Rancho Avenue and Mill Street/Rancho <br />Avenue; and <br />WHEREAS, a budget appropriation for approved activities, not listed in the 2016-2017 <br />Fiscal Year budget is required and must be approved by resolution of the City Council. <br />
